Using a voice-activated RFID system, workers in a warehouse can initiate an RFID tag-reading station or dock door for shipping and receiving processes. Voice capabilities can be used for directing readers to identify tagged inventory, reconcile RFID data against ASNs and instruct workers on where to place the pallets or cases. With voice activation, workers no longer have to manually look up the location of where to place the shipment. If pallets are incomplete, the system can verbally notify the worker, who can immediately deal with exceptions.”

XING has announced that the newest version of its Android mobile app now contains support for NFC.

XING’s 11 million members can now exchange contact information wirelessly through a new feature called “XING Beam.” According to XING, the feature is activated when two XING members call up their profile on their NFC-enabled Android device and then hold the two devices next to each other.
