Loyola Marymount Univ. making gym access easy

This Los Angeles university is in the process of spending $4,000 to input a biometric thumb-reader in their rec center. Targeting the students who have forgetten their OneCards, it is both a convenience for the students and an aid in the prevention of non-members getting into the facility without an ID card. PNC Bank and Loyola University Chicago have teamed together to provide personal financial services to the university’s nearly 16,000 students, faculty and staff.

As part of the new campus banking relationship, PNC will host financial literacy workshops for Loyola students and staff, covering topics ranging from basic banking to credit management and identity protection, savings and investing, as well as home buying.

India’s Bangalore University will soon launch a smart card-based ID for its students and faculty, reports Daily News & Analysis.

The e-ID will function as an identification and debit card. The university plans to add functions to enable hall tickets, attendance records, report cards and degree certificates.
