Regional NACCU meeting at Colorado State free to members and non-members

A regional meeting of the National Association of Campus Card Users (NACCU) will be held on November 5 in Fort Collins, Colorado. The event is free of charge and open to both members and non-members of the association. The site for the meeting is Colorado State University and attendees will participate in both educational sessions and a tour of CSU’s campus card operations.


The meeting will feature a keynote address by Lowell Adkins, Executive Director of NACCU, and an in-depth look at the Colorado State University ID & Vending Office. A campus tour plus breakout sessions on pertinent card office topics will also be offered.

According to the event organizers, “To encourage you, your staff, and students to attend there is no conference registration fee. You are only responsible for your personal travel and lodging requirements. We will host an informal kick-off dinner on November 4 and provide a continental breakfast as well as lunch on November 5.”

XING has announced that the newest version of its Android mobile app now contains support for NFC.

XING’s 11 million members can now exchange contact information wirelessly through a new feature called “XING Beam.” According to XING, the feature is activated when two XING members call up their profile on their NFC-enabled Android device and then hold the two devices next to each other.

Campus card provider NuVision Networks, Napa, Calif., has named Brian Adoff as the company’s new executive vice president.

Adoff, formerly NuVision’s national sales manager, will now oversee company-wide operations and develop strategic partnerships.

GlobalPlatform announced that it will hold a two-day card specification training session March 1-2 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Directly preceding CARTES North America 2012 (March 5-7, Las Vegas), the training session will aim to educate CARTES delegates and other participants on the importance of GlobalPlatform Specifications, their capabilities and functionality.
