Sybase's iAnywhere Announces RFID Solution

“Sybase subsidiary iAnywhere Solutions announced today RFID Anywhere, a platform that lets businesses plan, develop, deploy and manage radio frequency identification networks and applications. … RFID Anywhere operates as a network service, integrating into existing corporate infrastructure via a service-oriented architecture (define). It includes connectors and controllers for commonly used RFID hardware components. The software manages RFID and other data collection and control devices, such as barcode readers and printers, as well as sensors and other devices in machine-to-machine networks.”

AeroScout was recently selected to implement and integrate its Wi-Fi RFID-enabled Work-in-Process (WIP) Visibility solution for a Continental Tire factory in France.

Traditionally, manually locating the large carriers used for material transport was challenging and inefficient, resulting in wasted time and materials. With the AeroScout solution, Continental Tire employees can check where a carrier is located in real-time from a Wi-Fi enabled computer.

Auraya Systems announced the commercial release of its voice authentication solution called ArmorVox Speaker Identity System.

The solution, which was developed for system developers and call centers as either an enterprise or cloud-based solution, fuses text-independent and text-dependent voice-verification that automatically detect languages.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) announced the publication the new 802.15.4f-2012 standard for active RFID and RTLS.

This new standard will enable interoperability between systems and give end users a wider selection of vendors, whereas in the past the choice has been limited to a single source that supplies a proprietary technology platform.

Sybase 365 has announced a partnership with Telefonica Digital to provide mobile wallet services to Telefonica subscribers around the globe.

Developed by Sybase 365, the “mWallet” will enable users to store prepaid, debit, credit and loyalty cards for simplified online purchases, peer to peer transfers, and NFC-enabled contactless payments at the point of sale.
