Texas Instruments (TI) introduced a pair of encapsulated RFID mini-transponders designed for applications in animal tagging and asset tracking.

The 12mm TRPGR30TGC and TRPGP40TGC mini-transponders were developed to enable users a battery-free solution for embedding RFID tags into smaller objects across a broader range of applications. These transponders come ready-to-use and are 100 percent backwards compatible with all of TI’s RFID software and readers including power modules, control modules and micro readers.

GAO RFID Asset Tracking announced an ultra-high frequency Gen 2 RFID reader with 4-port read and 4-port listen.

This RFID reader, operating at the frequency range of 902 to 928 MHz, reads Gen 2 compatible transponders at a maximum distance of up to 7 meters or more. It also offers communication interfaces including Ethernet TCP/ IP, DHCP and HTTPS for data exchange.

GAO RFID Asset Tracking launched its 433 MHz RFID rugged asset tag used for outdoor asset tagging applications, particularly those operating on metallic surfaces.

This RFID rugged asset tag, model 124017, transmits signals at preset time intervals which include customer site code (CSC), tag ID, tag age counter value, movement alarm and tamper alarm status. It offers a typical transmission range of 0 to 50 meters depending on antenna configuration.

Portable Technology Solutions (PTS) announced the availability of its front end data collection tool, ClearStream RFID, designed for real-time inventory and asset tracking.

Complementing the release, Eplica Services in San Diego, Ca. said it will use ClearStream RFID for security tracking and attendance for thousands of workers entering and exiting remote construction work sites throughout North America.
