Unova / Intermec Stock Jumps After Zebra Licensing Deal

Shares of Unova Inc. (UNA) leapt 17.1% after the company said Zebra Technologies (ZBRA) agreed to license radio frequency identification intellectual property from Unova’s Intermec unit. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.”

Gemalto announced that it has been awarded a multi-year contract from the UK’s Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency to supply 40 to 80 million secure Sealys documents for a variety of official permits. These include digital tachograph cards, the next generation of polycarbonate driver’s licenses, and biometric residence permits, in a multi-year contract.

Zebra and Checkpoint Systems have entered into a cooperative relationship and licensing agreement. While the exact terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the relationship does bring together Zebra’s active location solutions with Checkpoint division OATSystems’ passive RFID, auto-ID and sensor capabilities.
