“Applied Wireless Identifications (AWID) Inc. wants to make purchasing a radio frequency identification reader (RFID) a breeze. The company on Monday said it plans to embed iAnywhere’s RFID Anywhere Appliance Edition software into a new low-cost line of RFID readers. And, they’ll be available for purchase with a credit card on the Web by March 31.
The click-and-go purchase process is meant to make it easy for companies to get started, according Louis Sirico, AWID vice president. Although the readers are being touted as “so simple to use you don’t need training,” formal classes are available for those requiring assistance.”
