Alien vs. Intermec= industry all riled up

Seems everyone in the RFID industry’s got something to say about the Alien Technology lawsuit against Intermec, says a new story posted at RFID Update, which also displays Intermec’s response:

“Today’s action by Alien Technology is not unexpected. We continue to believe, as we stated during our last quarterly conference call on May 8, that Alien, among others, makes and sells products that infringe Intermec RFID patents. We have consistently said we will pursue those companies that infringe our intellectual property patent estate. We continue our due diligence related to these matters.”

RFID boosts recycling efforts in Charleston County, SC

Intermec Inc. is helping Charleston County, S.C. boost recycling participation and recycling levels with the use of RFID technology.

In an initial pilot effort, some 5,000 homes have been issue recycling carts with RFID tags which enable the county to accurately measure and identify recycling participating and increase collection operations productivity.

IC-TAG receives certification from Alien Technology

IC-TAG Solutions announced it has earned certification from Alien Technology to use its EPC Gen 2 RFID inlays.

IC TAG utilizes Alien Technology’s EPC Gen 2 Squiggle, Squiglette, and Square inlays in their IC-TAG RFID labels and tags. Alien uses its own proprietary microchip, Higgs 3, to produce its ultra-high frequency RFID tracking devices.
