Tuesday, December 26, 2006

It’s all about Vegas, baby.

Until your RFID-infused gaming system grabs local press and finds a niche in Europe. That’s what’s happening with Gaming Partners. The Las Vegas vendor, which makes chips in plaques in the 125 KHz and 13.56 MHz frequencies, plans to make a showing at next month’s International Casino Expo in London.

During the Jan. 23-27 event, GPI will introduce its RFID-based Electronic Chip Surveillance (ECS) system that uses 125 KHz RFID tags (embedded in the chips, the technology triggers an alarm when stolen).

GPI’s booth will feature live demonstrations of all its lines of RFID chips and readers with various casino currency control and table management applications.
