Japan's RFID Pilot Consortium Gets Going

the Japan Application Consortium officially launches this month, with pioneer members Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ), NTT Comware, Oracle Japan and Verisign Japan.

The ultimate goal is construct an RFID system based on a jointly developed standard for use in the international logistics pilot program that is being conducted by EPCglobal, according to news reports.  [end]

HID Global has announced the successful completion of the world’s first university pilot of NFC smart phones carrying digital keys.
