CISC Semiconductor Unveils RFID Eval Kit.

CISC Semiconductor this morning announced a new RFID tag evaluation tool combining hardware and software from National Instruments (NI), RFID Update reports.

Called the RFID Measurement & Evaluation Test System (MeETS), the kit targets “everyone from tag manufacturers to end users to RFID test labs as a solution for robust, scientific testing and measurement of RFID tags,” according to RFID Update[end] 

CEITEC S.A. announced the final development of its integrated circuit for supply chain and manufacturing tracking: the CTC13000.

The CTC13000 offers a versatile, passive RFID chip the supports multiple logistic applications for asset tracking, from prototyping to final assembly, as well as inventory control and post-production. It can also be applied in end user applications such as airline baggage, grocery and medical assets.

FIME has announced that its EVAL Test Suite has received MasterCard PayPass 3.0 qualification. According to FIME, the suite can now be used to test contactless terminals designed to meet the payment system’s latest specifications for accepting high value contactless transactions.

Sony has revealed its new NFC-enabled Xperia S smart phone at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, according to ITProPortal.

The inaugural handset in Sony’s new line of NXT smart phones (as in “NeXT” generation), the Xperia S features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 12MP camera, HDMI connection, 32GB of internal flash storage space and a 4.3-inch 720 x 1280 pixel display in addition to NFC.

Proxama has announced a partnership with semiconductor supplier ARM Holdings to create secure payment mechanisms for mobile handsets.

The UK-based partners say they will combine ARM’s TrustZone technology with Proxama’s Mobile Wallet to develop a “highly secure” environment for NFC-enabled mobile contactless payments and mobile internet payments.
