AuthenTec fingerprint sensors are being integrated into LG-Nortel’s IP phone 8540 which utilizes Microsoft’s Unified Communications (UC) solutions. AuthenTec’s AES1510 slide sensor is contoured into the top of the IP Phone 8540 within easy reach of the phone’s keypad and user handset. The sensor is used to authenticate the user of the phone with a simple swipe of a finger, ensuring that only authorized users are granted access to personal and corporate information such as voicemail, call logs, contact lists and calendars. The LG-Nortel IP Phone 8540 is planned to be widely available worldwide in late 2007.

The LG-Nortel IP Phone 8540 is planned to be widely available worldwide in Q4 2007.
Already designed into the majority of today’s most innovative fingerprint sensor enabled cell phones, AuthenTec’s sensors are the smallest on the market and feature AuthenTec’s award-winning Power of Touch™ functionality, enabling manufacturers to easily and cost-effectively add security, convenience, navigation and personalization controlled by the simple swipe of a finger. The AES1510 is another of AuthenTec’s portfolio of slide sensors that uses patented TruePrint® technology which reads below the surface of the skin to the live layer, where a person’s true fingerprint resides. This unique subsurface approach enables AuthenTec sensors to read virtually every fingerprint, every time.
