CAMBRIDGE, Mass.–CoreStreet®, a leader in software for smart credential and convergence programs, announced that its applications to support the Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS-201) have been awarded “Best of Show” at the 2007 Smart Card Alliance Conference’s Emerging Technology & Innovation Showcase. This is the second consecutive year CoreStreet has won the award.

Both CoreStreet’s PIVPAC™ Enroller and the CoreStreet Enabled™ Kaba E-Plex 5800 Physical Access Control System (PACS) are acknowledged through this award, which recognizes the most innovative technologies in the world of smart cards.

The PIVPAC Enroller provides a solution for Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) compliance through FIPS-201 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cardholder enrollment, provisioning and revocation across physical access control systems. The CoreStreet Enabled Kaba E-Plex 5800 PACS is an electronic standalone locking system designed to authenticate and provide physical access using FIPS-201 compliant smart cards.

• Lock supports all types of FIPS-201 compliant cards including: the First Responder Authentication Credential (FRAC) used by emergency service workers, Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) used by transportation workers, the new version of the Common Access Card (CAC) used by the Department of Defense and other compliant cards;
• In addition to supporting all FIPS-201 compliant ID cards, the lock also supports the Phillips DESFire smart RFID cards for any valid users who have not been issued FIPS-201 cards; and
• The E-Plex 5800 lock is a dual credential lock that can be programmed to work with either smart card-only or dual credential modes based on your security requirements and programmed access schedules. Dual credential utilizes PIN, followed by presentation of smart card.
