AIM Global, the trade association for the Automatic Identification and Mobility industry, just released a new report “Securing The Benefits Of RFID,” makes such a case.

Aside from RF-blocking devices aimed at consumers, RFID security tools and techniques are designed for technical professionals who are designing and implementing RFID systems. They range from very basic (encoding only a “dumb” license plate or using wafer encoded or true WORM chips) to more complex methods such as encryption or data obfuscation (encoding one set of data but transmitting a different one).
