MyHealthTrack smart card system helps diabetes patients in Tennessee

Putnam County, Tennessee is issuing smart cards through the MyHealthTrack system for patients with diabetes. About 70 patients are taking part in the $500,000 joint grant program with the state. MyHealthTrack uses a card, the Internet and provider networks to track patient care in real-time including lab tests, counseling and exercise classes. Because the smart card requires a photo and password, it prevents phantom billing and duplicate benefits. Providers receive payment faster than usual also.

iMPak Health has announced the launch of RhythmTrak, an NFC-enabled mobile application that enables users to track their cardiovascular health at home.

RhythmTrak is a handheld, credit card sized electrocardiogram (ECG) device that both documents heart rates and heart rate variability and calculates intervals and single lead waveforms. Data collected on the device is transmitted wirelessly using a NFC reader or an NFC enabled smart phone or tablet, enabling the user to simply forward the information to their physician.
