CEM® Systems to secure Domicilium headquarters

CEM® Systems, an access control brand of Tyco International, has been chosen by Domicilium Ltd. to secure its new 20,000 square feet headquarters in the Isle of Man. The CEM webEntry II Pro access control system uses LG Iris recognition biometric reader devices as well as CEM InfoProx MiFare® card readers. The webEntry II Pro system controls access at up to 64 doors, monitors alarms, controls IP cameras, produces ID badges and provides time and attendance reports on card usage via a standard web browser on any networked PC.

Identive Group has revealed a new open-standards based solution that enables users to access secure buildings with the tap of a smart phone.

According to Identive, the solution integrates the PLAID government-grade access authentication protocol with the secure processor within an NFC-enabled smart phone. When used with Identive’s new line of TouchSecure readers, the NFC phone can be used in place of traditional physical access credentials, such as smart cards, to quickly and easily enter secure areas.

Multimodal biometric security provider ImageWare Systems Inc. has released version 2.0 of its Biometric Engine (BE) physical security identification product.

This product is designed for airports, seaports and other critical points-of-access for government and private enterprises. This update takes into account the SAFE Port Act, which requires foreign shippers to secure cargo being shipped to the U.S. and ensure the identity of those loading it. Shippers must manage this by 2013.

Gemalto’s Protiva MedSecure provides a portfolio of authentication software, digital credentials, secure devices, servers and associated services.
