USB payment device is secure

The new USB and contactless credit card released by the Shinhan Card Company in Korea earlier this month is said to be a secure option for purchasing online. In an interview with ZDNet Asia, Gartner analyst Avivah Litan said, “On the surface, it appears it will give users more security.” She continued to say that she expects the device to be a success because their research shows that consumers prefer devices that plug into PCs, compared to standalone devices, because it prevents the device from being misplaced if it is perpetually plugged in, Litan explained to ZDNet Asaia. [end] 

The European Payments Council (EPC) has published the second edition of its “White Paper on Mobile Payments.”

According to EPC, the white paper focuses on the usage of the mobile payments in the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and explores how m-payment services can be delivered through cooperation between service providers in the payment industry and players within the mobile ecosystem.
