WCC Smart Search and Match announces collaboration with SecuGen

WCC Smart Search & Match is collaborating with SecuGen. SecuGen has developed rugged fingerprint readers and software, which will provide enhanced identification and authentication for WCC’s ELISE ID - The Platform for Multi-Modal Fusion. ELISE ID is capable of searching large amounts of data - both biographic and complex biometric - using advanced technologies to calculate similarities and rank results. ELISE ID’s platform will incorporate SecuGen’s fingerprint technology as an enhancement to its capabilities for multi-factor identification.

UTRECHT, Netherlands, and RESTON, Virginia — WCC Smart Search & Match, a leading provider of high-performance search and match software, today announced its collaboration with SecuGen, a leader in optical fingerprint recognition technology for biometric identification and authentication. SecuGen has developed fast, rugged and accurate fingerprint readers and software, which will provide enhanced identification and authentication for WCC’s ELISE ID - The Platform for Multi-Modal Fusion.

ELISE ID is capable of searching vast amounts of data - both biographic and complex biometric - to deliver meaningful, ranked results extremely quickly. ELISE ID optimizes identity searching using advanced technologies to calculate similarities and rank results, allowing for true score-level fusion. ELISE ID’s platform will incorporate SecuGen’s fingerprint technology as a significant enhancement to its capabilities for multi-factor identification.

Mobile and network security provider AuthenTec has released the AuthenTec AE2750, a fingerprint sensor designed for use in mobile commerce applications.

The AE2750 contains many features found in smart sensor designs, such as a 192 pixel by 8 pixel fingerprint sensor array. California-based BridgePoint Systems has introduced its TrustPoint 3-Factor Biometric Reader for physical access control systems.

With the TrustPoint product, users enter a PIN into the reader. The reader then performs a biometric finger scan and completes a one-to-one match between it and the biometric template stored on a PIV credential, a process that takes less than two seconds. The smart card reader also verifies the templates digital signature.

SecuGen announced that the General Services Administration added two of its fingerprint scanners to the FIPS 201 Evaluation Program Approved Products list.

The solutions, which are both compliant with the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Personal Identity Verification FIPS 201 standard, are the Hamster IV v2 fingerprint reader and ID-USB SC/PIV v2 combined fingerprint and smart card reader.
