Mayday implements single sign-on with smartcard and PIN

Mayday Healthcare Trust in south London has implemented a single sign-on solution that will enable its two thousand users to sign on to all IT applications using one smartcard and PIN number. With Enline’s Imprivata OneSign solution, staff will be able to log on and off and gain access to all applications, by inserting and removing their smartcards. The changeover period between sessions on designated shared workstations, when one user logs off and another one logs on, will be significantly reduced.

NEC Corporation has developed a new cloud security service that implements advanced authentication capabilities from CA Technologies.

NEC combined the CA ArcotID software credential with its NC7000-3A ID utilization infrastructure and NEC Mobile Security security countermeasure product to offer authentication services in the cloud through identity links found on multiple NEC websites. The CA ArcotID product offers integrated two-factor authentication and can be used on smart phones and tablets.

HID Global has launched a software interface that enables customers to have converged physical and logical access control on one card with with IBM Tivoli TAM enterprise single sign on (eSSO). Called OMNIKEY Device Service Provider (DSP), this software works and uses a person’s existing contactless physical access credential for sign on to IT networks and applications.

Okta, an identity company based in San Francisco, has introduced a single sign-on authentication service, reports ZDNet.

The integrated multifactor authentication product can be used both onsite and within the cloud. Its second layer of security is designed to be flexible, allowing for a variety of options from security questions to soft tokens. The process can be centrally managed, with authentication variations available.
