Precise Biometrics releases new product

Precise Biometrics is launching a new software product – Precise BioMatch Flex Toolkit which enables customers to implement the fingerprint recognition technology Precise Match-on-Card in an even easier and more efficient way than earlier.

In relation to this release, Precise Biometrics also presents a new Partner Program. Making Precise Match-on-Card the choice of fingerprint recognition technology; cards, fingerprint readers and applications can be chosen, mixed and replaced to fit changing system requirements and needs. In combination with the product launch, Precise Biometrics also presents a new Partner Program to easier facilitate the needs from partners. [end]

Precise announces partnership with Giesecke & Devrient

Precise Biometrics has entered a partnership agreement with smart-card technology developer Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) to bring Precise’s Match-on-Card technology to G&D’s smart cards.

The partnership will enable G&D’s clients to provide smart cards with encrypted data on the user’s fingerprint so that when a card is swiped and a fingerprint is scanned for identification purposes, the match occurs between the data stored on the card and the fingerprint swiped rather than routing data to and from a database.

Precise appoints exclusive Brazil distributor

Precise Biometrics has announced it has selected GD Burti for exclusive distribution of the company’s fingerprint and smart card readers in Brazil.

The move to get heavy distribution in Brazil became increasingly important for Precise as the country is completing its roll-out of the Brazilian National ID project which provides all of Brazil’s citizens with a smart ID card that has an embedded chip with each citizen’s fingerprint data for authenticating their identity where necessary.

CloudPassage releases security products for cloud servers

CloudPassage has launched Halo NetSec, a firewall, two-factor authentication product that enables access to virtual servers in the public cloud.

As reported by TechWorld, Halo NetSec covers security needs for services from infrastructure providers, such as Amazon Web Services or Rackspace. Administrators can set up defense parameters without having access to an actual network.
