China Electronic Commerce Association first in China to deploy PalmSecure

Tokyo-based Fujitsu Limited announced its PalmSecure PC mouse equipped with a palm vein biometric sensor has been deployed by the China Electronic Commerce Association (CECA), a government-backed organization that rates the trustworthiness of electronic transactions carried out by Chinese companies.

The CECA is using the PalmSecure PC mouse as the login mechanism for its employees to gain access to their computers, ensuring that for each PC, only users who have previously registered their biometric palm vein data can log into it. This is the first deployment of palm vein biometric authentication devices in China. [end] 

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd. is continuing to expand its partner network in China collaborating on new installation ranging parking solutions, access control, and personal identification.

Shenzhen Chuangtong Intelligence Equipment, a Chinese company focusing on the manufacturing of contactless parking solutions and integrated identification systems, will leverage LEGIC based products for access control installations, especially for car parks.

The Bank of China and other major Chinese banks are deploying new bank terminals designed to reduce teller fraud in branch offices.

Miaxis Biometrics Co. LTD created the product by integrating AuthenTec’s TCS2 TouchChip fingerprint sensors into its Bank ID Terminals. Bank tellers will use their fingerprints to provide a unique identification marker, which will then provide a biometric audit trail of financial transactions.

Smart Packaging Solutions (SPS) announced it is ready to deliver its to smart card products to manufacturers in China.

This, following the Chinese Government, along with People’s Bank of China (PBOC) confirmation that all banking cards in China would use smart card technologies by 2015. PBOC has already published the specification for these cards, called PBOC 2.0, which includes the certification scheme.
