OKI upgrades software development kit

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

OKI Electric has made improvements to its Software Development Kit for fingerprint authentication. While the first SDK was only compatible with slide sensors, demand for touch sensors has been increasing for applications in door locks, access control and ID terminals aimed at users of all ages.

Responding to this demand, OKI developed the SDK to be used for touch sensors. Customers wanting to use touch sensors can now develop a fingerprint authentication system by preparing a touch sensor and the driver software to import the fingerprint image. OKI added a software interface to the new SDK to enable customers to easily connect their desired sensor of various types. [end]
