Atmel's FingerChip biometric sensor selected by Rise Computer

Atmel Corp.’s FingerChip fingerprint sensor has been selected by Rise Computer for its RX5622 LCD PC. Atmel’s FingerChip solution is based on its unique thermal sensing technology.

It provides fingerprint image capture, >25kv ESD protection, and protection against mechanical and chemical erosion. Atmel’s FingerChip solution as a standard feature enhances consumer friendliness in the RX5622 LCD PC by allowing users to conveniently manage user accounts and passwords and protect data via finger swipes. [end] 

Mobile and network security provider AuthenTec has released the AuthenTec AE2750, a fingerprint sensor designed for use in mobile commerce applications.

The AE2750 contains many features found in smart sensor designs, such as a 192 pixel by 8 pixel fingerprint sensor array. It also offers hybrid fingerprint matching on a sensor match and host match, AES, RSA and SHA encryption block and One Time Password generation. The device can mount on smart phones, tablest and touchscreen-enabled mobile devices.
