BIO-key awarded $2 million biometric contract

Wall, N.J.-based BIO-key International has been awarded a $2 million contract to integrate its biometric technology with a large multi-national technology company. BIO-key will license components of its VST finger matching software to be used on multiple, large international and domestic opportunities. Under the terms of the license agreement, BIO-key received a $2 million order for software licenses that will be delivered during the second and third quarters of the current fiscal year. [end] 

Accurate Biometric announced it has been awarded a contract from the FBI for its Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS).

The contract is a significant one for Accurate as it enables them to offer same-day FBI fingerprint submission services for criminal background checks to clients such as housing authorities, Indian reservations and banks.

The Los Angeles World Airports, which oversees airport operations for the city of Los Angeles, has awarded a contract modification to Unisys to upgrade its access control and alarm monitoring system that is used to identify the 45,000 airport employees, contractors, police and others who work at the organization’s three airports.

The U.S. General Services Administration has awarded Entrust Inc. a four-year, $4.5 million contract to continue providing hosted PKI services and digital certificates as the security infrastructure for HSPD-12 initiatives. An incumbent in the re-compete proposal, Entrust has provided managed PKI solutions and services for the GSA’s credentialing program since 2007.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security awarded Accenture Federal Services a 13-month, $71 million contract to add biometric modalities and other enhancements to the US-VISIT program. US-VISIT uses digital fingerprints and photographs. A pilot program included in the contract will test facial and iris voluntary identification enrollment and matching.

Intercede announced that it was awarded an order for the supply of Intercede MyID Identity and Credential Management software licenses totaling more than $1 million. This contract is in support of the issuance of ICAO compliant smart card travel documents. The country and partner cannot be named at this time.
