Conference on future of biometrics to take place in Brussels

A conference on Europe’s ability to handle the increase in demand for biometric technologies will be held later this month in Brussels, Belgium, according to a Cordis News article. The conference is to be organized by University of Kent and the United Kingdom Biometrics Institute and will cover the use of biometrics in national security as well as many other public and private uses.

Over the next two months, the Smart Card Alliance will be hosting some events geared toward the financial services and security industries.

The first is a webinar designed to help merchants and acquirers adapt from magnetic stripe cards to EMV chip cards. This free webinar, entitled EMV for Merchants and Acquirers: U.S. Migration Considerations, will take place on Thursday, October 6 at 1 p.m. EDT.
