GlobalPlatform launches new site

Tuesday, June 24, 2008

GlobalPlatform, the smart card specifications organization, has launched a new-look public website at www.globalplatform.org.

It has been designed to give more simple access to GlobalPlatform’s interoperable smart card, device and systems specifications, which are available online for royalty free download. The new site includes straight-forward navigation to the specifications from the home page and also presents GlobalPlatform’s Specifications and related technical documentation in an ‘at-a-glance’ format.

This enables visitors to see which documents are available for download, understand how specifications, configurations, supporting documents and compliance programs relate to each other and read a brief extract of each specification or document, simply by scrolling their mouse over the relevant document title. Overall, the site content has been reduced by 35%, ensuring that all information posted online is streamlined, relevant and completely up-to-date. [end]

GlobalPlatform announced that it will hold a two-day card specification training session March 1-2 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Directly preceding CARTES North America 2012 (March 5-7, Las Vegas), the training session will aim to educate CARTES delegates and other participants on the importance of GlobalPlatform Specifications, their capabilities and functionality.
