bioMETRX completes purchase and integration of competitor's assets

bioMETRX has finalized its purchase and integration of former competitor Sequiam.

BioMETRX’s hope is that many of the biometric products previously offered by Sequiam will help compliment their new smartTOUCH fingerprint recognition products. In addition to the product lines gained in the transaction, bioMETRX now has access to Chinese manufacturing and some large company accounts that were previously held by Sequiam. [end] 

HID Global has announced the successful completion of the world’s first university pilot of NFC smart phones carrying digital keys.

First announced in September, the pilot involved a select group of students and staff at Arizona State University using NFC-enabled smart phones equipped with HID’s Secure Identity Object (SIO) Technology. Participants could gain access to their residence halls and other secure access areas by tapping their handset against a reader embedded in the door and entering a PIN, rather than use their plastic campus card.

Dolcera Corporation has released a patent repository for NFC technology.

According to Dolcera, the new report provides a layout of “essential patents” that enable the use of the NFC technology based on ISO/IEC 14443, ECMA-340 and ECMA-352 standards, as well as the patents that are used to deliver NFC-enabled applications to consumers.

IntelliTrack has released an upgrade to its line of software applications with the announcement of IntelliTrack Fixed Assets Software.

Fixed Assets Software enables asset managers to perform regular physical inventories using a Windows CE/Mobile handheld computer. With RFID capability, personnel can quickly scan all asset tags in a given area. After inventory is performed reports can be run from IntelliTrack Fixed Assets software to determine if all assets have been accounted for.

Radiant RFID announced that it has partnered with the Texas Department of Public Safety to track more than $1 billion in assets.

The department will utilize Radiant RFID’s asset management solution and tracking tools to manage and track the locations of their diverse and mobile inventory of assets such as computer equipment and protective gear.
