BRS wins Security Network top honors

Friday, July 11, 2008

Bio Recognition Systems, an Australian biometrics developer, has won a competition among new security technology from The Security Network, a non-profit organization that promotes advances in the access security market, according to a Smart House article.

The device from BRS that took top honors over the other thirty entrants was the BioLock+ security access control system. The new system won due to its innovation and viability in both government and personal uses. The BioLock+ secures via fingerprint reading technology and is able to do so both indoors and outdoors as it was designed to be weatherproof.

One of the technology’s more useful features is its ability to program different effects dependent on the finger used for access. For instance, one finger may simply allow for access while another will allow for access while alerting security to the potential emergency situation.
