Tuesday, July 15, 2008

The network infrastructure provider Reva Systems Inc. has announced the general launch of its new Tag Acquisition Processor (TAP) appliance, the TAP 721, along with the release of software version 2.3 for all TAP models.

The TAP 721 offers RFID network infrastructure to facilities operating up to 1,024 read-points per site, while the new software release includes enhanced management tools, modeling capabilities and data processing.

The TAP 721 is designed for large, busy facilities, with a specific eye toward the aerospace manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, postal services and airport operations sectors. The 1,024 read-points capacity includes any combination of fixed multi-antenna, fixed single antenna, or mobile and handheld readers.

The new software release ships standard on TAP 721 models and is available as an upgrade to existing TAP 331 and TAP 701 models. The 2.3 version expands Reva’s core product capabilities, and has new features including advanced modeling of antenna coverage zones, simple configuration of transition portals using standard readers, and automatic detection of tag direction for populations of simultaneously moving tagged objects, along with a number of new analysis options. [end]
