HID, MAXxess partner

Friday, July 25, 2008

HID Global announced that its partnered with MAXxess to create an open architecture access control system. HID will incorporate its EDGE family of IP-based access control products into the eAXxess security system from MAXxess.

The IP-based EDGE provides an access control hardware infrastructure with contactless smart card capabilities. eAXxess leverages EDGE’s ability to provide distributed intelligence and decision making right to the door, using the IT infrastructure to the maximum extent.

The open architecture enables organizations using the EDGE-optimized eAXxess products to build a customized security management system that easily integrates with existing card readers and other devices.

An EDGE device can be used with a single network connection and configured using eAXxess software. This eliminates the need for additional software, hardware or interfaces. [end]
