M2SYS chosen by TimeForge for biometric ID system

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

TimeForge, a developer of online based attendance and employee tracking software, has recently chosen M2SYS Technologies, a developer of biometric security solutions, to provide fingerprint scanners to be included with TimeForge.com, an online employee management system.

TimeForge was seeking to integrate biometrics into their existing system as many of their clients were having problems with “buddy punching.” employees punching out for each other leading to incorrect time sheets.

With M2SYS’s fingerprint technology integrated into TimeForge.com, TimeForge’s client’s are now able to do away with punch clocks altogether to switch instead to a biometric based punch system, eliminating most of the inaccuracies in current time sheets.

The new addition to the system is expected to save TimeForge’s clients anywhere from 5% to 7% on payroll expenses. [end]

The partnership will enable biometric on Retail Pro’s RightPOS, a point-of-sale-based management system that handles register security among other management tasks. The inclusion of biometric authentication will increase accountability of employees using the system, improve the audit trail and further strengthen the security by doing away with often forgotten passwords or PINs.
