ExCel London goes with Salto

SALTO Systems has been tapped by ExCel London to provide a new smart card access control system to the conference and exhibition center. The new system will include 363 smart card electronic locks that will replace traditional mechanical locks or keypads. The exhibitor has a mix of on and off line doors now, but eventually all will be online. [end] 

Clear Channel has announced plans to deploy a network of 100 NFC-enabled London Digital 6 (LD6) Sheet advertising screens in London’s busiest areas.

Slated for launch on Nov. 28, the 72” HD screens will seek to provide more interactivity with target audiences through social media and NFC, the company said in a release. Presumably, the technology will allow NFC handset users to tap the displays to receive offers from merchants or other media.

Providing wireless, real time access control is at the heart of the SALTO system. Any number of doors can be equipped with the solution at a than a conventional wired access control system and its battery power consumption is close to that of standard battery powered electronic lock.
