Bucknell issues new multipurpose ID card

Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Penn. has issued its new ID card that can be used for many campus services, including the library, bookstore purchases, dining, athletics events and access to residential and other campus buildings.

Students, faculty and staff recently received the new IDs that also have debit capabilities. It replaces a Bucknell identification card that supported some campus services but not keyless entry. With the new ID, the University has assigned each campus member a unique number that is associated with the card. When the card is presented at a reader, the database matches the card to a user and confirms usage and entry privileges.

Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, has partnered with the Discover Money Network to enable students to open an account with the university’s Student Account Services. It would be separate from their school account and can be used anywhere Discover cards are accepted.
