Rfidium launches Leprechaun tag

Antenna inlay provider Rfidium has announced the availability of the “Leprechaun,” a new RFID tag designed specifically for box and pallet tagging on cardboard boxes or polymeric containers. The tag is intended for inventory and trace-back tracking of a variety of food and beverage, pharmaceutical and commodity applications.


The new tag has a read range of over 4.2 meters in free-space propagation and is compliant to ASTM D 4169, Loose Cargo, Commercial Temperature and Vibration Levels. Also, the Leprechaun is an aluminum antenna inlay, complying with strict WEEE and RoHS environmental requirements, helping to minimize environmental impact for customers focusing on green operations.

The Leprechaun is designed to work with a wide variety of packaging types and package contents. Despite a small footprint, greater amounts of metal area make it less susceptible to influence by the materials being tracked; for example, pots of gold. [end] 

SML Group Ltd announced the launch of its new “ViziT” RFID item visibility solutions for the retail apparel and item tracking applications.

The ViziT solutions include a range of RFID/EAS enabled paper and woven labels, as well as tickets and sticker that can be attached to garments and stacked items. Using the SML ViziT IT cloud based data management software also provides for semi automated inventory control, as well as improved loss prevention by triggering alarms and item identification at the store exit.

CloudPassage has launched Halo NetSec, a firewall, two-factor authentication product that enables access to virtual servers in the public cloud.

As reported by TechWorld, Halo NetSec covers security needs for services from infrastructure providers, such as Amazon Web Services or Rackspace. Administrators can set up defense parameters without having access to an actual network.

India transport operator Ahmedabad Janmarg Ltd. has launched a smart transit card for commuters traveling on the region’s bus system, according to ISO&Agent.

The agency began a six-month trial and August 2010 followed by a soft and silent launch in January 2012. The card is available now for a nonrefundable fee of 25 rupees ($.50 US cents) and allows commuters to travel for up to 100 minutes on one bus, for the minimum fare.

UK-regional bus group Bluestar has launched a new transit card for discounted weekly and monthly travel on its network, according to Southern Daily Echo.

The new card enables cashless fare for any service on the Bluestar Network in Southampton, Eastleigh and Winchester. It also supports travel on Wilts & Dorset buses and Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight, both of which are owned and operated by Go-Ahead Group.
