Locks Galore offers consumer grade biometric access control

Locks Galore, an online lock store, is offering the Kaba E-Flash EF220 consumer grade rim-mounted fingerprint reader lock, according to a Ferret article. The E-Flash is designed as a replacement for deadbolt style locks on residential homes.

Beyond its basic function of replacing ones keys with a swipe of a fingerprint, The E-Flash lock touts simplicity of use with one touch operation, the option of adding security code access and optional wireless door release via remote control. It also allows for up to 40 users to be programmed into it with individual fingerprint enrolling and deleting.

GAO RFID has released a Wiegand-to-Ethernet RFID controller designed specifically for door access applications.

The network access controller, model 491018, is able to connect to any type of Wiegand reader such as magnetic stripe reader, RFID reader or fingerprint reader. It also offers a master card for adding or deleting access privileges directly from the external reader, thus acting independently without connection to a network or PC.
