Taiwanese company launches mass RFID production line

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Favite, an RFID component manufacturer based in Taiwan, has announced the opening of a new production line for RFID antennas, inlays and tags. The company claims the new production facility has the capacity to produce up to 600 million components per year.

The Favite production line includes manufacturing facilities for copper-plated antenna, along with inlays with flip-chip bonding technology and high-speed tag converting. The company reports the performance of their copper-plated antenna is nearly the same as copper-etched antennas for half the production cost. Favite representatives say it is the first company to set up a mass production line for copper-plated antenna process.

Favite also offers a range of customizing options at its new facility, including tag conversion to fit a range of tag forms including paper-based ISO cards, event tickets, airline baggage tags and a variety of label sizes. The company also customizes antennas to increase signal sensitivity and read range in order to meet specific application environmental requirements. [end]

But the documents were delayed due to complexities with the operation of the project and the need to thoroughly research and analyze other countries’ experiences with biometric passports.
