GlobeRanger deploys system at Pearl Harbor

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

GlobeRanger announced today that the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) at the Pearl Harbor Naval shipyard and Marine Corps base in Oahu, Hawaii deployed its iMotion EdgewareTM Platform.

The Oahu pRFID initiative was first developed by TRANSCOM, the DOD’s Distribution Process Owner for logistics. It enables the Naval and Marine Corps to easily maintain their receiving and storage warehouse facilities.

Oahu was selected in part because of its involvement in the Joint Regional Inventory Material Management Initiative, helping with consolidation of inventory between military branches.

The rollout of the Oahu pRFID initiative was deemed a success by the Naval Supply Systems Command. RFID portals were installed at the Pearl Harbor Shipyard and Marine Advanced Traceability and Control receiving warehouses, inbound storage warehouse doors, bulk storage and maintenance facilities.

The new data interfaces were then set up with DoD information systems. [end]

The Richardson Police Department in Texas has deployed an RFID asset management system powered by GlobeRanger’s GR AWARE application.

The RPD solution runs on GlobeRanger’s iMotion platform which enables data capture from current and the next generation of devices. This allows the department to electronically scan and catalog inventory, and obtain real-time visibility on critical assets ranging from weapons and uniforms to radars and cell phones.
