Datastrip wins 2008 innovation award

Frost and Sullivan, a growth partnership company, has included biometrics developer Datastrip in its list of companies being bestowed Frost and Sullivan Best Practice Awards recognizing their leadership and strategy in their respective industry over the past year.

Datastrip’s award is the 2008 Global Biometrics Product Differentiation Innovation of the Year Award recognizing their innovative new technologies introduced to the biometrics marketplace this year. Frost and Sullivan decide the recipients of the awards through market performance, in-depth interviews, analysis and research. [end] 

Identity security technology developers CardLogix and Datastrip have announced a partnership to combine technology to form a new mobile identity management solution.

Specifically, the solution has combined CadLogix’s M.O.S.T., Credentsys smart card, or ePassport with DataStrip readers such as the handheld Easy Verify to develop handheld, mobile solutions for collecting fingerprint data. Among the potential uses for the product, CardLogix and Datastrip expects to see the solution in use as a tool in national ID authentication, voter authentication, law enforcement and airport security.

London-based Smart Media Innovation Limited (SMI), a developer of mobile applications for secure ID management, has acquired the global rights to Datastrip’s product line of mobile biometric-enabled devices for secure ID verification, giving SMI the ability to offer a full mobile access and ID verification line.

Gemalto has won the BearingPoint innovation management award – the Agile Innovation Award – for its think tank initiative Business Innovation Garage (BIG).

BIG provides Gemalto’s 10,000 employees company-wide with a structured process to submit and manage any innovative ideas they have. Ideas covering range of fields – from communication, payment, transport, Internet access, and machine-to-machine application – are systematically challenged, audited, developed and eventually selectively turned into incubation cells.
