Avalon on track to surpass goals for biometric time clock sales

Under a new agreement Avalon Technology Group, a developer of biometric technology, will become the sole provider of biometric devices an IT distributors that supplies many international companies with hardware and software. Avalon did not release the name of the supplier.

This new agreement set Avalon ahead of schedule for their goal of $50 million in sales for their biometric time clocks. The agreement was the third for Avalon this fiscal quarter. [end] 

Hooters Restaurants has implemented biometric fingerprint readers as a means to prevent loss in transaction and payroll fraud at the restaurant level.

Hooters contracted with DigitalPersona Inc. to install the provider’s U.are.U fingerprint readers with ITWercs Point-of-Sale software in restaurant units. Hooters employees use the readers to authenticate transactions and clock in and out for shifts.

FingerTec USA has expanded its line of fingerprint time clock software systems with the Face ID 3, which utilizes facial recognition capability.

Face ID 3 is a contact-free computer timeclock that can be used in business or home environments. The system weighs about four pounds and uses facial recognition plus a network of infrared scanners for a surface texture analysis (STA) algorithm.
