Precise receives additional order from Swisscom

Precise Biometrics AB, a Swedish developer of biometric technologies, has reported an order they received from Switzerland-based telecommunications group Swisscom totaling nearly $300,000.

Swisscom has been using Precise products and services since 2006. This new order consists of keyboards with installed fingerprint sensors as well as licenses for Precise’s Biomatch software for authenticating users. [end] 

Precise Biometrics has announced it has selected GD Burti for exclusive distribution of the company’s fingerprint and smart card readers in Brazil.

The move to get heavy distribution in Brazil became increasingly important for Precise as the country is completing its roll-out of the Brazilian National ID project which provides all of Brazil’s citizens with a smart ID card that has an embedded chip with each citizen’s fingerprint data for authenticating their identity where necessary.

Precise Biometrics has developed a new line of “smart cases” for brands of tablets and smart phones to be released in 2012 and 2013. The new smart cases have built-in card reader and fingerprint sensor enabling users to both secure their devices as well as replace various password-based security for protected online sites and applications.

European RFID supplier Vilant Systems Oy and Switzerland’s Swisscom Auto-ID Services AG have agreed to merge their RFID activities.

As part of the deal, Swisscom will sell its stake in Swisscom Auto-ID Services AG to Vilant Systems Oy, following which Swisscom will own a minority stake in Vilant Systems Oy. The Swiss company will operate under Vilant’s brand and therefore the name Swisscom Auto-ID Services AG will change to Vilant Systems AG.

GTX Corp announced that it has received its second commercial order from comfort and wellness footwear provider Aetrex Worldwide Inc. for 1,500 GPS devices.

GTX has shipped 3,000 devices to Aetrex to enable the Aetrex Ambulator collection, designed to help protect individuals afflicted with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia who have a tendency to wander and become lost.
