Tuesday, December 23, 2008

On the heels of announcing an innovative “third generation” RFID system, Dutch firm Ambient Systems has scored a new round of financing. The cash infusion, which comes from a venture capital firm based in the Netherlands, will fund further international growth, product development, and general growth throughout the organization.

PPM Oost’s Innovation Fund will provided an unspecified amount of funds in return for a minority interest in Ambient. The Innovation Fund is designed to foster pioneering companies based in Eastern Netherlands.

Ambient also recently made changes to its executive team, naming Hans Derksen CEO and Maurice Magdelijns COO. Both executives have extensive experience in the international technology industry. [end]
