ABI Research: IBM top vendor for RFID enterprise platforms

Friday, January 23, 2009

IBM is number one in ABI Research’s latest vendor matrix. The matrix ranks companies which offer RFID enterprise platform solutions with a focus on business process management (BPM) and service-oriented architecture (SOA) approaches.

ABI focused on two parameters to assess vendors in the study: innovation, in terms of each firm’s RFID strategy, vision, approach, and the scope of their RFID enterprise platform offerings; and implementation, looking at market penetration and experience, support and partnerships, and overall market leadership.

IBM drew top rankings, according to an ABI representative, in part due to its extended global reach, installed customer base and experience, and continued platform solution innovation.

The second and third spots in the matrix were claimed by SAP and Microsoft, respectively. [end]
