Howard joins CertiPath

CertiPath, the identity management and secure information provider, announced that Stephen Howard has joined as its vice president of operations.

Howard brings deep expertise in creating secure and reliable identity solutions. With more than 25 years of information technology experience, he’s worked first-hand with cryptographic solutions, smart card systems, public key infrastructure and biometric technologies.


As a contributing author to FIPS 201, Howard has played an instrumental role in creating the personal identity verification standards used among federal employees and contractors today.

Howard will be responsible for expanding CertiPath’s core credentialing services to meet critical need for interoperability between commercial and federal-issued credentials as well as those issued abroad. [end] 

CertiPath announced that HID Global has completed cross-certification to the PIV-I standard via the CertiPath Bridge.

With the certification for PIV-I, HID Global plans to launch its PIV-I Service – an online offering that aims to reduce the time and complexity required for contractors to obtain employee credentials, which comply with PIV-I requirements. The certified PIV-I Service offering will be managed by HID Global’s identity assurance business, ActivIdentity.

CertiPath and Citi’s Global Transaction Services announced that Citi has achieved cross-certification to the PIV-I standard with the CertiPath identity bridge.

CertiPath is the U.S. Federal PKI Policy Authority partner in testing PIV-I credentials, used for both physical and logical access. Certipath’s architecture and operational systems for a single credential provide secure access and interoperability for employees, customers and partners.
