Unisys working on biometric pilot system

Biometric developer Unisys has announced that they are working with different organizations including various government entities on a potential trial run of an iris-scanning system for Australian airports that would identify individuals as they are moving through the airport, according to an article from The Australian.

The system in development is called Iris on the Move and involves a swivel-capable camera that can detect and authenticate irises of people moving at a normal pace against a database of biometric information. If properly implemented, Unisys expects the new system to speed up security checkpoint processing by four times.
