Motorola exec moves to RFID Global Solution

RFID Global Solution Inc. (RFIDGS) a provider of asset visiblity solutions, has named Joe White as its new Chief Operating Officer. White comes to RFIDGS from Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Division, where he served as vice president of RFID Business Development and Marketing.

White has a long history of involvement with the RFID industry. Prior to his time at Motorola, he was the vice president in charge of RFID product management for Symbol Technologies. He also served in a similar position at the firm Matrics, where he was involved in the development of first generation RFID solutions. [end] 

AeroScout was recently selected to implement and integrate its Wi-Fi RFID-enabled Work-in-Process (WIP) Visibility solution for a Continental Tire factory in France.

Traditionally, manually locating the large carriers used for material transport was challenging and inefficient, resulting in wasted time and materials. With the AeroScout solution, Continental Tire employees can check where a carrier is located in real-time from a Wi-Fi enabled computer.

Google closed the deal on acquiring Motorola Mobility, according to the company’s official blog.

In announcing the buy, Google CEO Larry Page hinted that Google will use Motorola to expand its Google Wallet mobile commerce service.

Portable Technology Solutions (PTS) announced the availability of its front end data collection tool, ClearStream RFID, designed for real-time inventory and asset tracking.

Complementing the release, Eplica Services in San Diego, Ca. said it will use ClearStream RFID for security tracking and attendance for thousands of workers entering and exiting remote construction work sites throughout North America.

Salamander Technologies announced that its MOBILE and MOBILE PIV software has been validated by Motorola Solutions.

The Motorola Solutions’ Validated Solution Program includes joint testing at the Motorola Solution Center in Holtsville, New York. MOBILE software provides bar code and smart card reading to identify and track personnel and companies at an incident, emergency or field event.
