Companies want consumers to trust the Internet

Gemalto, Microsoft, Nokia and Philips announced a new initiative that aims to address some of the issues of trust in new and emerging digital services, they announced at the Future of the Internet conference in Prague. The initiative aims to bring European public and private stakeholders together to advance “Trust in Digital Life” through the development of a common vision.

Consumers are concerned about identity theft and bank card fraud, according to a Unisys Security Index survey. The project’s goal is to get consumer to overcome the concerns and trust the Internet. Trust in Digital Life involves users, markets, legal and societal aspects, and technology that will accelerate research and development of trustworthy technologies and products.
